Exciting Packages!

All of my lovely Gaffer casting crystal arrived on Monday! Admittedly 'all' is actually only 1kg but still, very exciting.
They lie!
I got Opaline White which is going to be the base colour of my marble (I'm imitating the nice white marble with the black/grey feathery bits). I was worried in case it was going to get a bit too technical and confusing as it has a 'Technical Support' page with information on how to activate it's special Neodymuim oxide. I thought this was to just turn it from regular white to shiny so when it arrived and was completely clear I was a bit surprised! Turns out the fancy chemicals make everything happen.

Anyways, long story short- when I sat down to properly read the instructions and cobble together a firing schedule it all worked out okay and isn't really as technical as it likes to make out.

Pretend this isn't just on my desk.
My plan is to cast 6 small pieces, 2 of each type. The types being different proportions of grey/black. Then I'm planning on smashing one of each type up and recasting it to get a smoother mix of glass with maybe more dilution. This is all in theory anyways...

Wish me luck.
