In between stressing about the patterns that I'm going to use I've been trying to come up with ways of hanging the disk. It's a bit more tricky because it needs to spin.

A highly accurate drawing of the spinning in motion! |
I want to try and keep the frame as invisible as possible so you can't really see it and also so it doesn't get in the way with the projection too much.
I've been playing around on Rhino and so far I have this:
A big kind of doughnut thingy with a groove in the inside bit of it .
And then little bracket bits which will have some sort of special spinning thing there.
I didn't think this until right now, but the ring would make a disturbance in the projection when it was at ninety degrees to the light source and this would look a bit rubbish. The ring part will probably ned to be cut down so it is similar in size and shape to the brackets. I need to get something laser cut as quick as I can so I can actually see what is happening with it.
