Glass Packages

There is actually nothing more exciting then getting parcels in the post! My week is going to be improved ten fold when I receive my next one which is full of (okay two tubs of) frit. In the end I chose the black and light grey, which is maybe no surprise but I do have my reasons.

I decided on black as I don't think there needs to be a colour to fit in well with my concept and I hate using colour for the sake of it. The atomosphere created by this piece should be dark and anxious and in my opinion I can help this along by removing all colour from the surroundings and therefore all hints of any other emotions etc. Hopefully it'll be subliminally confusing.

The light grey is a good accompaniment to the black and once again isn't really a colour. As it is a lot lighter is is going to be used for the secondary disk of the fused pair (there, I've said it. I am making two and fusing them. Now there's no backing out). This will create a lighter projected image and will give a bit more depth to the piece.

It should hopefully be here by the end of the week and then I will be able to get started with some tests. Yay!
